A Starry Wedding

When I met our client for this cake I was BEYOND impressed. As a soon-to-be-bride myself I really could learn a few things from her. She was incredibly organized and knew everything there was to know about planning a wedding with the perfect amount of do-it-yourself touches. Luckily, she hired me to make her wedding cake which she designed herself! Purple to match her invitations and silver stars to match her centerpieces. Thank you for letting me make your sketch come to life.

She provided the cake topper which we "edited". The figures had blonde hair and the bride and groom are brunettes.

Super Mario Brothers

Ok Mario fans, brace yourself! Since I have been making cakes I have dreamed of making a fun Mario cake, lucky for me, the opportunity finally came my way!!! This cake was for a young Mario fan turning 11. I was not sure which Mario game he played most often and after asking a few questions about  the design and his gaming preferences I was told he loves Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and of course there had to be a Boss! We combined aspects from a few of our favorite Mario levels and came up with the below design. The most important thing for this cake was to be sure the characters (esp Mario and Luigi) accurately matched their video game appearances.

I love these little pieces! All hand sculpted from fondant!

I really love how great they came out!!!

A combination of super Mario 1, 3 and Super Mario for Super Nintendo.

A Big, Bad, Boss

The Birthday boy's name is Kamden
and we thought is sounded like a great name for a level in Mario!

A Few Girly Things

Girls, this is a cake after our own heart! For a 21st Birthday we were asked to create a girly cake with some shopping, jewelry, make up and of course SHOES!!!
This is another one of my absolute favorites!!! A tiffany Box, A Victoria's Secret shopping bag, a life size shoe (a size 6 1/2 to be specific) and tons of Mac makeup!
All made from delicious Red Velvet cake and Vanilla Bean Buttercream.
All jewelry and make up sculpted from fondant. Shoe hand crafted using gumpaste. Yes, it is edible and it is fabulously gorgeous, I really had to talk myself out of making myself a pair to wear on date night!

The Tiffany Box. covered in fondant. Fondant pearls.

Make up and brushed made of fondant

Gumpaste shoe, edible glitter.

Angry Birds

Let me start with a rather new and terrible addictive game. Anyone who has a snazzy ipad or iphone is sure to be obsessed with the ANGRY BIRDS. We were asked to make an Angry Birds cake for a client's wife who habitually played the game. There was one request, it had to be functional! The game needed to be playable, and so we built an edible slingshot that you could actually use to shoot the birds!
This cake was beyond fun to make, each bird, all the little details and the cake itself was 4 feet long.
We also made his wife into her own "Angry Bird".

Here are the Evil Pigs. Hand sculpted out of fondant.
